Straight into an episode of Cheers. Frasier is still having trouble coming to terms with Lilith leaving him, so this tape comes after the ones we’ve seen recently. It’s The Girl in the Plastic Bubble.
Lilith tells Frasier that she’s going to spend the next six months in the Ecopod, a closed biosphere, with her lover who’s running the experiment.
He doesn’t take it well.
The gang take turns trying to talk him down.
We now skip over a few episodes, which we’ve looked at on previous tapes, to Sunday Dinner. Frasier has a new secretary. She seems interested in a relationship outside the office, and Frasier asks her out. Shauna is played by Kristen Cloke, off of Space Above and Beyond.
Frasier asks Sam if he needs a little help with his appearance.
Cliff and Norm offer to videotape a family gathering, but it becomes awkward when the battery runs out before some important family moments, like their serviceman son returning from duty.
Meanwhile, Frasier’s intimate dinner with Shauna turns out to involve her whole family.
She only invited Frasier to irk her father, who disapproves of her actual boyfriend Rick.
The next episode is Norm’s Big Audit. Norm might have to sleep with the IRS agent who’s auditing him.
Also, Sam goes to some trouble to prevent the bar watching an old baseball game of his, because it was embarrassing. He even drops Paul’s Watchman into a pitcher of beer.
The next episode is It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Bar. A lot of these episodes have teasers filmed on location in Boston.
Robin Colcord (Roger Rees) is a changed man when he returns to the bar.
The gang thinks that he might have left another money belt stuffed with millions of dollars somewhere in the bar
The next episode is Loathe and Marriage. Carla’s daughter comes in with the news that she’s pregnant.
They have the wedding at Cheers, and naturally Carla’s ex, Nick (the brilliant Dan Hedaya) turns up.
The also brilliant Jean Kasem is there, as Nick’s wife Loretta. She tries her hand at singing with the polka band.
Before the next episode, there’s the end of Grow Your Greens with Sophie Grigson.
Then, Is There a Doctor in the Howe? Frasier receives a letter from Lilith in the Ecopod, telling him she wants a divorce. So Rebecca throws a surprise party. The gang are more interested in the cake than the dancer.
There’s an awkward, clumsy moment with Frasier and Rebecca. But it then looks like they might actually hook up.
But the Cheers gang turn up to cheer him up, while Rebecca is upstairs waiting for Frasier.
When he finally gets rid of them, he joins Rebecca in bed, only to be interrupted by Lilith returning.
The next episode continues where that one left off, in The Bar Manager, the Shrink, His Wife and Her Lover. Lilith tells Frasier she wants to get back with him. But he’s still bitter.
And then Lilith’s former lover Dr Pascal comes back and wants Lilith to come back to the Ecopod.
He pulls a gun and takes the whole bar hostage.
And finally, after everything, Frasier takes Lilith back.
After this episode, recording stops, and underneath there’s part of an episode of Roseanne. It’s an episode with Danielle Harris as Darlene’s friend Molly, and features her father. He looks familiar, because it’s Wings Hauser, last seen here in Mutant.
After this episode, there’s the start of Whose Line is it Anyway. The tape ends during this programme.
